Participate in Forums for more Traffic

A fairly simple way to boost traffic to you blog is to take part in forums. Search for forums that already have a lot of traffic. This is also more effective if you pu in your 2 cents at forums that are related to your blog. Besides creating a link on the site for search engines to grab, all the thousands of users that surf the busy forum will read past your comment. The curious ones will check out your site, and if your content is valuable enough to them they will continue to return. This free advertising can also establish credibility for your site with the comments you leave on the related forum.

Links = More Web Traffic Part 2

Now that you know the basics about links, what should you watch out for? First off, when trading links make sure you know what page you site will be linked on. There is a big difference between linking to you from the homepage or a page that is hard to find and very far from the homepage. This would make the link exchange almost useless to you. People surfing the web and search engines will not be able to use the link very well, therefore not boosting your traffic and rankings.

Also it is smart to not associate with certain sites that will hurt your reputation. For example, some of these sites could possibly be pornographic or related to gambling. These may also hurt your relationship with advertisers because it could be against their terms of service. So be cautious.

Best Deals on Domains

For Domain Registration, GoDaddy.com has become popular because it is so cheap, but it lacks reliability and customer service (they also charge for phone support). FTPplanet.com reviews:

  • "Stick to domain registration, leave hosting to the professionals. Downtime constant, no support. Might be cheap but you get what you pay for..."
  • "I sign up for hosting in Godaddy.com with 500Mb of space and 100 email accounts. When I am going to setup my email account, they are only 3MB each. It is totally usless for me. This limitation was not on the description of the plan."
  • "They cost me hundreds of dollars in billing errors and refused to correct the matter. I was told they would have a supervisor contact me but never did. They were also rude and insulting. I will NEVER use them again."
As shown they are less than quality. I have a special surprise for Blogging 4 Money readers. A Promo code for DreamHost.com a trusted and reliable domain registar and host.
  • The code is: BLOG4MONEY.
  • This code gives you a free $20.00.
So you can get an awsome webhost for GoDaddy prices! http://www.webhostingratings.com gives DreamHost a rating of 9.49 out of 10
  • "I was introduced to DreamHost when 2 separate clients of mine needed site redesigns... I "converted" about a year & 1/2 ago, and have been happier with each passing month! The account panel is easy to use, and allows me to help clients with their own accounts through my access. DH consistently keeps feature upgrades, including new software releases and security updates, on the forefront of their service. I've currently got about 90% of my client base hosting their sites with DH!"
Best of luck everyone.

How Often to Post on Your Blog

All our blogs are different due to our content and readers, but how often should we post? From my experience there are two different successful posting rates for ACTIVE blogs. One is to post daily. When this is done, your posts do not have to be super long, but make them easy to understand. When you post, you'll see your traffic go up and then slowly decline until your post the next day. Continue to feed the traffic spikes by posting at least once a day.

Another option is to post every two to three days. When you do this make your articles longer and higher quality. Your readers will keep returning because your articles are in depth. This is good for people who do not want to keep watch on their blog every single day. Both of these are good options and can lead you to success. Try experimenting and check which is giving you the best results. How often do you post?

Money from being an Amazon Associate

Bloggers have many different approaches to making money from their blogs. An option that has helped me make money is becoming an Amazon.com Associate. Why does this help in making me money? And why do I prefer it as an affiliate? TRUST.

Text Link Ads
Consumers on the internet already trust Amazon. Like most trust Ebay. This can be used to your advantage. You link a relevant product or topic in Amazon that your visitors may be intererested in and they buy it. You will make a percentage of the sale. Many of your visitors will most likely already have Amazon accounts which makes it even easier for them to buy. Amazon.com also lets you shop around and has many great deals, another reason why people are using it. If you are interested in affiliates to add revenue to your site keep Amazon in mind.

Links = More Web Traffic Part 1

It is important to link you blog or site to others for many reason. Besides the fact that this will help you growth and popularity because of the exposure, it will also give you a higher ranking on search engines. This means you will be closer to the top. Search engines have numerous ways of ranking your site, but the number of links connected to your site is almost always a very important factor. So how do you link up with other sites? Here are some different ways:

1. Message or E-mail the site owner and ask 2. Link their site and they may in return link yours. (this is tracked through Technorati.com) 3. Sign up for a link trade program. Linkmarket is a good choice. It is free and simple. This is a powerful tool that can help you connect up with other sites. Linking will help you achieve success. Check back for part 2

Top paying Adsense keywords

I thought it was interesting what the top paying adsense keywords are, the top  5 are:

$81.45 new york city trial lawyers
$74.21 chicago personal injury lawyer
$73.09 college loan consolidation
$71.94 consolidate student loans
$69.53 cash settlement

These advertisers play Google a lot of money per click, because they can lead to high returns for them.  If you are the publisher you will see a fraction of this payoff, not a whole $70 or $80.  But this is still significantly higher than most other ads.  Keep in mind that it is hard to build traffic directed to click ads of these topics, before you go off and spend time building a site about these subjects.  Just another interesting topic to bring up. :)

New Adsense video ads

Adsense has released a new type of advertisement for publishers, video ads. These give customers full control over whether to play them or not. What do I think of them? For most of us, I think they are useless. There may be a very small number of us that may be able to use them because the products being sold are very close to our site content. I am not putting them on any of my sites. But experiment, if you think they may work for you, give them a try for a week. Best of luck everyone!

Your own blogring

Many of us are trying to generate revenue through more than one site or blog. This is a great idea! But to take advantage of the traffic that you have already created for yourself link all your sites. Almost like you own miniblog ring. This is a simple yet very helpful way to keep traffic circulating in and out of your sites. Just another small, but important detail to use when your blogging.

Importance of Feeds

In the ever competitive world of the internet people need to make ever reader count. This means it is a must to help get your blog and content out there any way you can. You need to connect to readers through feeds. I recommend Feedburner. This will help users subscribe to you blog and keep coming back as you continue to update your blog. Put a variety of subsciptions up including MyYahoo, Newsgator, and Google. Group these up and keep the look clean.

Slow but sure growth

When you first create your blog submit your blog url to AT LEAST Google, Yahoo, MSN, and DMOZ search engines and directory.  These take some time for you to be listed so do this early! I know this is a given, but it is worth stating.  Also as your site builds up start to submit it to blog networks.  My favorite is BlogTopSites, but list yours in numerous ones.  As you get listed in more and more (after having to wait) you will see your traffic gradually increase and this is what we are looking for.

The importance of reader relations

Many bloggers overlook the importance of good reader relations. Much of the money generated can be from a handful of readers that consistently keep returning to you site. What does this mean? Make your e-mail address available to your readers, respond to their comments, and answer any questions they may have. You would be surprised with the difference that this makes. I made the mistake in the beginning of failing to do all this and it did slow down the growth of my blogs. Just letting all of you know out there, so you don't waste your time. :)

Placement of your advertisements

As a publisher you have the most of what you have.  You have to place your ads so they can have the highest click/conversion rate possible.  An ideal place in somewhere on you blog that the reader may see casually.  The top, side (as part of the sidebar) small ads at the end or middle of long posts.  Be careful not to put too many ads to make you site look like a spam site.  This hurts your credibility.  I am also againsts pop up or pup under ads because they are annoying and keep your readers from comming back, which mean you will lack a stady flow of traffic.  Best of luck!

Site Up

I have got the site up and running, I will try to get valuable blogging information published as soon as possible. :)

Recommended money makers for publishers

I own a lot of different blogs, and it is important to have the right advertising campaigns to make your blog the most profitable. For this I recommend Google Adsense, Text-Link-Ads, Adbrite, and Clicksor. These are all trustworthy and secure companies and can help you make A LOT of money. Also, these are not hard campaigns to get approved for. Some campaigns make you wait weeks for an acceptance (or denial) when they say their processing time is only three business days! Which is very frustrating. Stick to the best and you will continue to build your money and your blogs value.

Adsense no longer has borders

Today adsense has announced that their ads are now borderless. This allows publishers to have a more sleek looking webpage slipping advertisements in as part of their page. This is very important, because it gives readers more trust where the links will take them. Keepa clean looking website and readers will keep coming back aswell as clicking the advertisements they are interested in.

Why blog for money?

Whats better than getting paid for something you love to do? When you get paid for blogging its like making money on a hobby. There is a lot of potential money to be made out there on blogging. You just need to know how. Continue looking around the blog for more information.
